GSA Phone Bridge Intergroup Meeting Minutes

The meeting opened at 3 PM by Cathy B., with the “We” version of the Serenity Prayer and reading of the 12 Traditions.

Motion to accept the January 2022 Treasurer’s report as posted on the www.greysheetmeetings.org website. Motion was made, seconded, and passed.

Announcements:
- Cathy B. took suggestions to clarify the “Disturbances on the Phone Bridge” Announcement. It will read as follows. Cathy asked everyone to read this announcement on the meetings they attend.
The Phone Bridge Trustees and a team of GreySheeters are working with the conference call company to resolve these problems.
For the safety of our phone meetings, everyone can help by staying muted at all times unless you are sharing. To mute yourself, please use *1 on your phone keypad instead of the mute function on your phone. In the event of an interruption, we need to be able to identify the source in order to remove them from the call. If anyone other than the leader or sharer is unmuted it is harder to identify the source.
Also, we ask everyone to leave the meetings as soon as they are over.
Please note that locking the meeting to eliminate the disturbance is the last resort if it cannot be resolved any other way. The bridge will never be locked otherwise.
- Moderator Liaison position: Phyllis is stepping down after 3 years of service. Thank you Phyllis! We will need a new Moderator Liaison after the Labor Day marathon. The Moderator Liaison will handle both regular moderators and dashboard monitors. Note that there are already moderators and monitors in place for most meetings. The Moderator Liaison finds replacements for these positions if someone steps down, and also gets moderators and monitors for the marathons. The requirement for this service position is 2 years abstinence. Anyone who is interested, or would like to nominate someone, contact the Trustees via email phonebridgetrustees@greysheetmeetings.org, or go to the Phone Bridge website greysheetmeetings.org and click on Contact Trustees.

2.Vote for format changes:
After discussing the proposed format changes to the 7th Tradition announcement, a motion was made, seconded and passed. The formats will be updated to read:
The 7th Tradition states that there are no dues or fees for GSA membership. However, we are self-supporting through our own contributions.
The treasurer for this meeting is________, and if you wish to make a donation his/her number is_________.
If you can contribute please do so! These meetings help us to reach GreySheet members and newcomers far and wide. If you cannot contribute keep coming back. Having you with us is just as important.

Old Business that was tabled at the October PB Intergroup Meeting:
- Discussion of adding a page on PB history to the website: Cathy B. reported that we need volunteers to help write the Phone Bridge history. If you are interested in helping to write this history, contact phonebridgetrustees@greysheetmeetings.org.
- A motion was made and seconded to shorten the Phone Bridge Marathon hours from (as they stand now) 5:30 am ET – 10:00 pm ET to the proposed hours of 8:00 am ET – 8:00 pm ET. The reasoning is that we already have in place strong daily 5:30 am and 7:00 am meetings as well as a strong 9:00 pm meeting. Motion failed. Marathon hours will stay as-is.
If you have additional new business, please email us at least a week before the IG meeting with any new items you would like to discuss. Only items that affect the Phone Bridge are discussed at the IG level.
The next Intergroup meeting is scheduled for Sunday, July 10, 2022, at 3:00 pm EST.
