For clarity, some definitions of terms as discussed at the Intergroup Meeting
Operating Expenses: Regularly occurring, expected expenses, covered by regular income.
- For example, monthly rent paid from monthly salary.
- For us, website, corporation, and financial review fees
Set Aside Account: Money gathered for an extremely large, expected but NOT regularly occurring expense which can NOT easily be taken out of cash flow.
- For example, yearly house insurance payment which exceeds monthly salary
- For us, 3 year financial review.
Therefore, each month, you set aside (or earmark) a specified amount of that bill so that when the bill comes due, you can easily write the check.
Prudent Reserve: A certain percentage of income accrued for large, UNEXPECTED yet likely to occur expenses.
- For example, car repair
- For us, donations suddenly drop dramatically
